Billing Policies

Insurance Coverage

Please bring your current insurance card and a photo ID with you for every visit. Insurance coverage will be verified at every visit. As insurance policies often change or companies merge, we must have up-to-date information. Please verify that our office is participating with your insurance plan by contacting your insurance directly or speaking to an account representative in our Business Office. If you do not have insurance, please contact the Business Office prior to your visit to make payment arrangements.

Morristown Cardiology Associates is part of Atlantic Health System. We are considered network participants in many insurance companies. The below list of insurance plans that Atlantic Health System contracts with should not be considered comprehensive. Patients should always check with their individual carriers to determine the network status of Atlantic Health System facilities.

Referrals

In order to see a specialist, many managed care plans require a referral from your primary care physician. It is your responsibility to obtain this referral prior to your visit. If a referral has not been approved by your insurance plan, your insurance may not pay for the visit. Without prior approval, you may be responsible for the charges associated with the visit. 

Co-Payments

Many plans require patients to pay a co-payment for each visit. Co-payments are due when services are rendered; we accept Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard and Amex.

Statements

Statements are sent out monthly by Practice Associates Medical Group and payment is due upon receipt. For your convenience, you may pay by credit card or mail your payment to the address on your statement. Questions regarding your statement can be addressed at the time of your visit or by calling Practice Associates at 973-656-6280 or Morristown Cardiology’s Billing Office at (973) 455-1901.

Medical Records and HIPAA Privacy Rules

All requests for medical records must be received in writing at least 1 week in advance. You will be notified by phone when the records are available to be picked up.

Our office maintains medical records confidentiality in compliance with Federal HIPAA rules and regulations.

Cardiovascular Imaging at 435 South Street

All testing is done at Cardiovascular Imaging at 435 South Street, Suite 130. This is an outpatient hospital facility. You will receive two bills for testing. One will be from Practice Associates for the doctor’s services and the other from Atlantic Health for the facility charges.
